My wee little blog has been honored again with a peer award. Thank you very much to Talia at Lekker Lacquer who has nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award! It’s nice to know that my efforts are appreciated, especially considering I am not one of the most prolific bloggers out there. 🙂
If you’d like to know more about the Versatile Blogger Award, you can find out here. The award was established to allow for those in the blogging community to show their appreciation for each other and help newer blogs get more exposure. Below are the rules that come along with the Versatile Blogger Award.
Thank the person who gave you this award. That’s common courtesy. (like mom always said lol)
Include a link to their blog. That’s also common courtesy — if you can figure out how to do it.
Next, select 15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly. ( I would add, pick blogs or bloggers that are excellent!)
Nominate those 15 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award — you might include a link to this site.
Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.
First, the list of blogs I would like to nominate for the Versatile Blogger Award. Please check each and every one out, if you don’t already subscribe to them. Heck, even if you do! We all know how great it is to see the stats on our site visits go up! (*^_^*)
Next, seven things about myself. Hmmm, let’s see what kind of interesting facts I can share with you all that won’t either bore you to tears or send you running for the hills……
With very few exceptions, I can’t eat fruit. It feels weird in my mouth, like something I should not be eating. Hopefully, I am not alone in this LOL
Like Talia who nominated me, I prefer savory foods to sweets. Given the option of dessert or another serving of mashed taters and gravy, I’ll take the second helping every time! 🙂
My favorite color is purple.
Cats are my favorite animals, and my babies Stewie, Otto and Maggie make me smile every day. Yeah, I love my kids, too. <eye roll> 😉
Today I FINALLY declared the concentration for my CIS degree! It’s Enterprise Computing, just in case you were wondering. I am a junior and anticipate being finished by the end of 2014.
I lived in south Florida for 14 years until I moved to Pennsylvania (Mid-Atlantic US for international readers) in 1994.
I hate my nail beds. They are too short and narrow and don’t have any curve in them at all. Given a winning Powerball lottery ticket, I will be happy to fund any emerging technologies to aid the similarly afflicted.
That’s it for today. Thanks again to Talia for the nomination, and I would like to also thank the blogs I’ve nominated for sharing with me and inspiring me to share with others.
Today the polish I have for you is Cosmic Fate from the Color Club Halo Hues 2013 collection. Holographic polishes have recently been the ‘apple of my eye’, and when I saw some swatches of the colors in this set, I had to get them. I have a couple other Color Club polishes and have had good experiences with all of them. This is a beautiful light copper/peach colored liner holographic polish and really leaps off the nail in full sunlight. These are my first strong holo colors and I have to say that I am sorry I waited so long to buy any. The color shift in these polishes is mesmerizing and it’s actually a good thing they aren’t quite as animated under the glow of florescent lighting lest I might not get any work done in the course of my business day. Below are shots with indirect sunlight and indoors with a flash. All are two layers with a top coat.

I found these polishes at enospring, and their service was exceptional! I ordered on a Thursday and had it in my mailbox on Monday! They are in NJ and I am in PA, so that helped I’m sure LOL, and their packaging was very secure. All around it was a very pleasant experience!
As always, thanks for reading! I hope you have a great week!
Today’s polish is another steal of a bargain I got at my local Wal-Mart’s SmartStyle salon. They have a rack (and a basket t hat I just recently discovered hehehe) that has hair/skin care products and OPI nail polishes buy-one-get-two-free! Yes, that’s buy one get TWO free! Needless to say I have enabled my own addiction quite thoroughly in that store over the years. Anyhow, this polish is actually a part of OPI’s 2010 Hong Kong Collection, so that’s was pretty neat to find something cool from before I got addicted to polish. 🙂 There are actually several other older polishes I found there that I have waiting in the wings to be shared. Stay tuned!
OPI Jade Is The New Black
Jade Is The New Black is a medium green creme polish that wasn’t at all streaky and covered nicely with two coats. Pictures below show two coats and one layer of topcoat. It’s a very rich color, but not too dark and not too light. This will fit nicely between the pastel greens and the darker forest or Eagles greens in my stash.

Do you have a favorite green polish? If so, what is it? I have several, needless to say, but this one is at the top of my greens list. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by, hope you had a great Monday!
Caroline by Julep is a deep vampy brick/ burgundy color that appears almost black in the bottle and on the nail in certain light, or a lack thereof. This is a lovely dark color, like so many I am drawn to recently. In the right light, as I hope you can see from my photographs, it really comes to life with an amazing shimmery sparkle. This one came in my Julep It Girl box for October(?), and it quickly became one I knew I would REALLY enjoy! I’ve even noticed that there are a couple shades I have that are pretty close and will have to do a comparison before long with SquareHue‘s Dear John from the February box and Sinful Color‘s Rich at Heart.
Here’s a nice close-up of this color on the nail using a flash. There is both a shimmer and an almost glittery sparkle that I really love about this color.
That’s it for today, thanks for stopping by to check out the blog. I hope you all have a great week!
I love having my feet done! I am always wearing sandals or flip-flops because well… I live in Miami… Catch me wearing closed-toed shoes… NEVER! I love looking down and seeing perfectly shaped nails that shine like there is no tomorrow. My feet are far from perfect super model feet.. They are wide and chubby (Thanks dad!), so I have to always have them done and looking as cute as possible.
I know that sometimes it’s hard to remember to take care of your feet, like you do your hands since you aren’t always looking down at them. I am guilty of not always caring for my feet the way I should be. Sometimes when I get out of the shower I put lotion of every part of my body except my feet, even though I always use a foot file in shower so they aren’t that nasty… I…
