How lucky that I actually bought pink polish recently! Not only that, but I wore it and captured the moment for posterity! The pink polish in question is Daytripper by Deborah Lippmann. The color is described on the website as a pink melon melange and, since I had to look it up to come with an accurate description, I will stick with that. They had a WONDERFUL sale on these at Nordstrom’s a couple months ago and I had to get a couple. 🙂 The second polish in this manicure is Happy Birthday by Deborah Lippmann, a clear base strewn with multicolored glitter. The website describes it as ‘party in a bottle’. I’d have to agree.
I started with two layers of Daytripper, then added a layer of Happy Birthday and another layer of Daytripper. I am thinking maybe two more layers on top next time? We’ll see, the polish is a bit sheer, so it could work. Finally, a butter LONDON’s Hardwear on top.
I even got fancier and threw on a butter LONDON matte topcoat, the first time I’ve ever used one of these. For some reason I assumed that, since the polish wasn’t shiny, that it must somehow be rough. That is absolutely not the case. The topcoat is as smooth as any shiny one I’ve used, and I actually liked the look of it!
This manicure looked really cool, I will definitely be trying this one again with different colors. Have any of you tried a ‘sandwich’ manicure and, if so what colors did you use? I would love to see your version.
Thanks for reading and happy hump day!!
