Caroline by Julep is a deep vampy brick/ burgundy color that appears almost black in the bottle and on the nail in certain light, or a lack thereof. This is a lovely dark color, like so many I am drawn to recently. In the right light, as I hope you can see from my photographs, it really comes to life with an amazing shimmery sparkle. This one came in my Julep It Girl box for October(?), and it quickly became one I knew I would REALLY enjoy! I’ve even noticed that there are a couple shades I have that are pretty close and will have to do a comparison before long with SquareHue‘s Dear John from the February box and Sinful Color‘s Rich at Heart.
Here’s a nice close-up of this color on the nail using a flash. There is both a shimmer and an almost glittery sparkle that I really love about this color.
That’s it for today, thanks for stopping by to check out the blog. I hope you all have a great week!
Here are the colors I used for this manicure (left to right):
China Glaze Fairy Dust
Finger Paints Get Real-Ism
Finger Paints Black Expressionism
Lost In Wonderland Colors
Two Coats Get Real-ism and one coat of Fairy Dust
For the design, I used a pattern from Bundle Monster plate BM-311 with Black Expressionism. The numbers in the design made me think of the Mad Hatter’s hat in Alice in Wonderland, hence the name of the manicure. Why do I have to name it? Don’t know. I just do. 🙂

Here is a close up of my thumb, I still need to work on my pictures, but I think you get the idea. I can’t wait until I get to be an ‘old pro’ at this…
That’s it for now. Hope you all enjoyed your weekend and have a nice week!
