Dance All Night from Black Cat Lacquer

Today’s polish is Dance All Night from Black Cat Lacquer courtesy of January 2015’s A Box, Indied. For those not familiar, this is a monthly polish subscription being offered through October 2015, I believe, that includes nail polish from a group of indie polish makers, more information is available here. The boxes are themed and get very creative. January 2015’s theme was “New Debts, New Diets, NEW POLISH.” This polish and its array of color and sparkle brings to mind a New Year’s celebration for me. How about you?

A Box, Indied – July 2014

Happy Saturday, all!  I hope you all enjoyed your 4th of July (or Friday/week if not in the States lol).  Here in Pennsylvania, we had beautiful and unseasonable weather, in the upper 70s, and it was down to 70 by the time the fireworks started. It really was a very nice day.  I am more of a winter girl than a summer one, so for me to say that there was nice weather on the holiday and the day before (my birthday) is almost unheard of! LOL  But I digress……. Today I have the latest A Box, Indied collection for July 2014.  This month’s theme is “A Fair To Remember” and the colors in this box are a nice, summery representation of that theme.

A Box, Indied – June 2014

Hello, all!  I hope you are having a nice week.  It’s hump day and all downhill from here!  I have FINALLY put together my post for this month’s A Box, Indied collection from Llarowe.  This month’s box came with four polishes from Girly Bits, Jindie Nails, Different dimension and a hand scrub from Glisten & Glow.  I love the inclusion of a product for hand and/or nail care. Last month there was a nail and cuticle oil, also from Glisten & Glow, and I feel that these items complement the nail polishes wonderfully. To have beautiful nails you must care for your hands and cuticles also! Continue reading

Memorial Day Manicure

Memorial Day is a very important day here in the United States. It’s the day on which we take pause to memorialize and honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice while defending democracy and freedom as a member of the US Armed Forces.  Below is a picture of my father, a man who dedicated his entire adult life to his country and community.  First as a Radioman Chief in the Navy for 18 years until his medical discharge, then as a dispatcher for the Miami-Dade Fire Department.  While he didn’t die in battle, I would like to take this opportunity to say how proud I am of him and all the other service men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting people around the globe.
