Happy Saturday, folks! I hope that your week is being kind to you and that you are finding time to relax or do something that you want to do. For those that work weekends, hope that your day is quick and easy! Today on the blog I have a polish from Different Dimension’s Shooting Star Collection called Zarya.
Today’s polish is Dance All Night from Black Cat Lacquer courtesy of January 2015’s A Box, Indied. For those not familiar, this is a monthly polish subscription being offered through October 2015, I believe, that includes nail polish from a group of indie polish makers, more information is available here. The boxes are themed and get very creative. January 2015’s theme was “New Debts, New Diets, NEW POLISH.” This polish and its array of color and sparkle brings to mind a New Year’s celebration for me. How about you?
Today for you I have a lovely holographic polish called Indigo Love from LilypadLacquer. This polish is a calm yet vibrant indigo blue that is packed with linear holographic sparkle. As is normal with my experience with this polish maker, the formula is easy to apply and covers well.
Howdy, everyone! Yes, I’m actually alive. Sadly, I’ve been neglecting the blog because school, work and life got in the way. However, I am happy to let you know that I am almost done with school and will be able to devote more time to my true passion: nail polish!! At this point I have so many pics and untried polishes waiting their turn, so I’ve got plenty of backlog to create posts from. Can’t wait to get back into the swing of things. 🙂
Happy Saturday, all! I hope you all enjoyed your 4th of July (or Friday/week if not in the States lol). Here in Pennsylvania, we had beautiful and unseasonable weather, in the upper 70s, and it was down to 70 by the time the fireworks started. It really was a very nice day. I am more of a winter girl than a summer one, so for me to say that there was nice weather on the holiday and the day before (my birthday) is almost unheard of! LOL But I digress…….Today I have the latest A Box, Indied collection for July 2014. This month’s theme is “A Fair To Remember” and the colors in this box are a nice, summery representation of that theme.
Hello, all! Sorry to have let my life outside of my nail polish addiction cut into my blogging time for as long as I did. Work, school, and family medical issues have taken a lot of my time, as I am sure most of you can relate to. I have been painting photographing and occasionally browsing blogs, but just haven’t had the time to blog myself. I will make a sincere effort to share more consistently in the future. *crossing heart* Now on to today’s polish.
Today’s polish is one that I purchased through a blog sale at Fingers Polish Mania. Here is a link to her sale page, in case you want to take a peek. If anyone is interested, it was a speedy and pleasant experience buying this polish and I will certainly keep browsing her page for goodies :). Elevation’s polishes are so beautiful and I had been wanting to try them for some time. When I found a bunch of them for sale, I had to snatch them up! Along with Toubkal, I managed to get a hold of Aurora, Broad Peak, Elbrus, Rapa Nui and Ubsunur. These are not on the blog outside the group shot of my haul below YET, but will be eventually. 😀
Toubkal from Elevation Polish is a burgundy jelly polish that is just packed with golden flakies and microglitter. My photographs really don’t do this polish justice, but you can definitely get an idea of how packed full of golden glow this polish is. These photos show two coats of polish with base and top coat, and clearly this polish offers smooth application and full coverage. AND without having to put on a third coat, yay! I think that with the right pale or pastel base color, this one might even work well as a topcoat. I will have to play with that one and see what I can come up with. Who else has this polish and what do you think of it?
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you all had a great holiday season and that 2014 is off to a great start. 🙂
Today’s polish is from Different Dimension and it’s called Just Keep Swimming. I have many polishes from Missi’s shop and I love them all! Check out a mani I’ve done before with one of her polishes here. There is also a Pink Floyd themed polish set I got from her that I have yet to swatch. Yes. You heard me right, a Pink Floyd themed polish set! See more about it here. She’s got tons of other themed polishes like Big Bang Theory, Mean Girls and Pretty Little Liars. You should really check out her store even if only to drool over its awesomeness!! 😀 But I digress…..
This polish is a bright cerulean blue linear holographic polish that is chock full of sparkly goodness. The photos below show two coats of Just Keep Swimming over a coat of Seche Rebuild and one layer of Cult Nails Wicked Fast topcoat. the first two photos were taken outdoors in direct sunshine and you can see how this brings out the most beautiful holographic dance of color. the last photo was taken indoors with a flash.
Here is the flash photo. My puny little nails are not showing the true glory of this polish, but the bottle shot does give you an idea of how strong the holo is in this color. I absolutely love it and will use it again and again, I’m sure. On a side note, there are some cat hairs that made their way into today’s photos. I do try to prep my bottles, etc, for photographing, but inevitably the occasional cat hair has and will continue to make its way into my photos. It’s my way of letting the babies share in the blogging experience. I can’t say for sure if this hair came from Stewie, Otto or Maggie, but they are all here in spirit. 😀
Indoors with flash
That’s it for today, I hope you enjoyed this color as much as I did. I have SO many new holographic polishes I don’t even know which to swatch next, but I will figure it out. I promise! Hope you all have a great Friday and weekend ahead!
