Today’s polish is Dance All Night from Black Cat Lacquer courtesy of January 2015’s A Box, Indied. For those not familiar, this is a monthly polish subscription being offered through October 2015, I believe, that includes nail polish from a group of indie polish makers, more information is available here. The boxes are themed and get very creative. January 2015’s theme was “New Debts, New Diets, NEW POLISH.” This polish and its array of color and sparkle brings to mind a New Year’s celebration for me. How about you?
Hello, all! I hope you are having a nice week. It’s hump day and all downhill from here! I have FINALLY put together my post for this month’s A Box, Indied collection from Llarowe. This month’s box came with four polishes from Girly Bits, Jindie Nails, Different dimension and a hand scrub from Glisten & Glow. I love the inclusion of a product for hand and/or nail care. Last month there was a nail and cuticle oil, also from Glisten & Glow, and I feel that these items complement the nail polishes wonderfully. To have beautiful nails you must care for your hands and cuticles also!Continue reading →
Today I am sharing with you a color from Julep‘s June 2013 It Girl box called Nan. As you can see in the photo above, the box also includes the colors Char, a navy creme, and Bess, a baby blue creme. Char and Bess will be coming to you in separate posts at some time in the future. Julep’s website describes Nan as a Nantucket red creme. Since I am not familiar with “Nantucket red”, my first impression was a that of a dusty salmon color. I will say that after googling the term Nantucket red, this is exactly what I see in the returned images. So in the process of blogging about nails, I’ve added to my bank of trivial knowledge. Two bird with one stone and whatnot. But I digress… 🙂
However you describe it, the color was a great application and nicely pigmented, I didn’t have any streaking when applying the color. These photos are two coats with a clear topcoat (China Glaze Fast Forward, if memory serves).
I really like Julep’s nail polish, and they usually give me pretty good wear. Considering I type all day at work then type at night at home for school, blogging or social media, anything over 2-3 days without major chipping is pretty darn good for me. lol Does anyone else subscribe to Julep’s Maven boxes and, if so, what do you think? I’ve been lucky and have had good experiences with them and their customer service.
As always, thanks for reading. I hope you all have a great day!!!
OH, I almost forgot! My first granddaughter was born yesterday!! OMG, right?? Her name is Mia Rose and here is a pic of her adorable little mug. Are there any other blogging grannies out there? Holla!!! 🙂
I got my SquareHueBloom Collection today and just had to share! These are such beautiful, bright colors and I couldn’t wait for swatching to show you!
The colors this month include a the brightest pastel colors I’ve ever seen. Below are names and descriptions of each color. Can I tell you how much I LOVE these polish names!!! Yes?? OK. I REALLY LOVE these polish names!! 🙂
Yellow Submarine is a pale, egg yolk yellow with the slightest silver shimmer
Flower Power is a pale green creme, what comes to mind when I see this color is a grasshopper in a children’s book 🙂
Groovy Love is as close to the color of lilacs as you can get in a lovely creme polish
SquareHue is a monthly polish subscription. Each month you get a Collection of polishes with themed colors for $21.99 including shipping. The one caveat with this subscription is that you don’t see the colors until you open the box! (Unless you happen to see @SquareHue’s tweet before you get to yours, like I did this month lol). The colors I’ve received have all been enjoyed and used. Win-win! Click hereto get more information for yourself.
